The Zichron Yaakov Yitzchok Kollel is dedicated in memory of Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchok Hertzka, zt”l. He is the father of our dedicated Askan, Rabbi Refael Hertzka. It is R’ Hertzka, who  took the lead, pledging to be a pillar of support for the new kollelim.  Reb Refael recognized the need for new Mekomos HaTorah and stepped up in an incredible way. His dedication and enthusiasm for the kollelim are inspiring, and his name has become synonymous with kollelim and the building of Torah in Flatbush.

Hosted by Torah U’Tfilah (Rabbi Alster’s Shul), the new Kollel is a great asset to the greater Flatbush Community. Many members of the Flatbush community have developed a relationship with the kollel. Numerous wonderful Baalei Batim,  have become incredibly devoted to assisting and supporting the kollel and its yungeleit in any way possible.

Led by it’s Rosh Kollel, Rabbi Moshe Kamin, a distinguished Talmid Chocham, the Kollel has 3 Sedorim daily, Minyanim and a Weekly Gemara Shiur. It also interacts with the general community as well.

The Hasmodah atmosphere during Seder is palpable. The Yungerleit are hand-picked of the highest caliber. They are dedicated to bringing Torah Learing back to Flatbush and the community. Walk into the shul and witness the learning of Torah at all hours of the day.
